Kongsberg Geospatial and uAvionix, leading providers of software services for UAS Command and Control (C2) and Uncrewed Air Traffic Management (UTM) systems respectively, announced today, the planned availability of uAvionix’s validated FlightLine ADS-B data from cooperative aircraft as an optional sensor feed for Kongsberg Geospatial IRIS Terminal users. The collaboration will provide enhanced situational awareness to Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS) operators by visualizing and deconflicting the airspace around their flights

Kongsberg Geospatial (KG), developer of the IRIS Terminal airspace deconfliction platform, has partnered with Iris Automation to provide visualization of intruder aircraft detections made by Casia G, its ground-based DAA system. This facilitates Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) UAS operations by providing situational awareness to remote pilots (RPIC) of potential air risks.

Kongsberg Geospatial, developer of the IRIS Terminal, and SkyDrop, a turnkey solutions provider of hardware, software, and patents for autonomous drone delivery, announced today that the Kongsberg Geospatial IRIS Ground Control Station application has been implemented by SkyDrop in New Zealand to receive necessary CAA approvals in order to conduct suburban drone delivery operations. The CAA granted the approval after conducting a thorough review of SkyDrop’s technology and operating procedures.

Phoenix Air Unmanned Receives Nationwide BVLOS Waiver for Powerline Inspections

Phoenix Air Unmanned, LLC (PAU) received a broad area waiver from the Federal Aviation Administration authorizing utility powerline inspection flights beyond the visual line of sight (BVLOS) of the remote pilot in command. The authorization spans powerline infrastructure across the United States and builds upon thousands of miles of BVLOS transmission line inspection flight experience.
