Ottawa, CA: Kongsberg Geospatial Ltd., an Ottawa-based geospatial and defense technology company, announced today that they are introducing a new multi-domain control system for coordinating the use of drones in the battlespace.

Over the past four years, the company has developed an airspace awareness system for operating unmanned aerial systems (UAS) beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS), called IRIS GCS. While it is primarily a civilian product, the IRIS system was developed based on Kongsberg Geospatial’s corporate experience developing civilian and military air traffic control systems, including the US Navy air traffic control system and embedded trainer used on aircraft carriers, and military command and control systems, including the US Navy AEGIS system.

Ottawa, CA: Kongsberg Geospatial Ltd., an Ottawa-based geospatial technology company announced the release of IRIS GCS 2.0, an updated and enhanced version of their Fleet Control Station and Airspace Management System. IRIS GCS provides drone operators with enhanced airspace awareness, navigational tools, and deconfliction and air safety features for BVLOS operators, while providing airspace managers with an integrated airspace picture that consolidates data from a wide range of real-time data feeds and sensors.

Ottawa, CA: Kongsberg Geospatial Ltd., an Ottawa-based geospatial visualisation software company, and MicroPilot, world leader in professional UAV autopilots , announced today that the Kongsberg Geospatial IRIS GCS has been integrated with the MicroPilot MP2x28 series of autopilots to enhance the ability of UAV operators using MicroPilot autopilots to conduct safe BVLOS operations. The integration will be demonstrated at AUVSI XPONENTIAL booth #2619.

Ottawa, CA: Kongsberg Geospatial Ltd., an Ottawa-based geospatial visualisation software company, and Aerial Robotix, the leading UAS services provider in Nigeria, announced today that the Kongsberg Geospatial IRIS UAS situational awareness application has been utilized by Aerial Robotix to provide safety critical airspace deconfliction supervised by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to enable conduct of long range BVLOS operations.
