What we’re looking for:

Kongsberg Geospatial is seeking an IT Specialist for a 12-month contract to collaborate with our support team. The role involves installing and maintaining computer systems and networks, with the goal of achieving optimal functionality. A successful IT Specialist must have knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems. The ideal candidate should also have great troubleshooting abilities and work well in a team environment.

This position requires in-office work at the Kanata office 5 days per week.

Duties include:

Manage help desk system
Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems
Create virtual machines and environments
Assist with system upgrades, patches and backups
Build new laptops and install approved applications
Develop and maintain local switches, firewalls and wireless access points
Document IT processes and maintain inventory of both equipment and licenses
Manage user accounts and permissions via Active Directory
Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
Document installation and configuration procedures
Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices
Support the onboarding/offboarding process
Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers

You have:

Post-secondary degree or diploma in a field related to IT or equivalent relevant experience.
Minimum three years of relevant experience
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Understanding of computer networking
Experience using ticket systems for daily workload
Knowledge of security protocols and services

It will be great if you have….

Knowledge of Cybersecurity best practices and NIST 800-171.
